Schedule a live session with RSVPs

Create a session Wave with a date, length, seat count and meeting link. Members RSVP to claim a seat, and you go live when it starts.

Last updated For: Speakers and hosts, Flow owners and admins

Before you start

  • Permission to schedule. By default owners, organizers, admins and moderators can schedule; members cannot. A Flow can let a profile type such as Speaker create sessions.
  • A meeting link from Google Meet or Zoom. Dium does not host the video call itself.

Steps

  1. In the Flow, start a new Wave and choose the session type.
  2. Add a title and a short description of what attendees will get.
  3. Set the date and start time, and the length in minutes. Members see the time in their own time zone.
  4. Set the number of seats if space is limited.
  5. Paste the Google Meet or Zoom link.
  6. Optional: add co-hosts, and set the session to repeat if it is regular office hours (weekly, every two weeks or monthly).
  7. Post the session. Members RSVP to claim a seat.
  8. When it is time, go live. A live banner appears in the Flow, and members who join are sent to the meeting link.
  9. During the session, use the in-session chat, open a poll (single or multiple choice, with an optional closing time), or create breakout rooms with a seat limit per room.
  10. End the live session when you finish. Questions and chat stay attached to the Wave.

Recurring office hours

When an office-hours session ends, Dium archives it and, if it repeats, creates the next one automatically on the same schedule. Missed dates in the past are skipped.

Troubleshooting

The time looks wrong

Times are shown in each person's time zone, taken from their profile or from the partner site they came from. Check your profile's time zone. Several time zone fixes shipped in July 2026.

Members cannot open the meeting link

They need to RSVP and claim a seat first. If all seats are taken, raise the seat count.

A breakout room is full

Each breakout room has its own seat limit. Create another room or raise the limit.

The session vanished after it ended

Finished sessions are archived. If it repeats, the next date appears as a new session.
