Three moves. One knowledge base.
Open a Flow
A Flow is your community space. Set roles, invite members by link or SSO, and brand it. Free while you are under 50 members.
Start a Wave
Ask a question, host an AMA, schedule office hours or go live. Every Wave has a type, tags and its own rules.
Keep the answer
The asker marks the best answer. Solved Waves join the searchable knowledge base, so the next person finds it in seconds.
What your members actually get.
Any Wave can go live
Members RSVP and raise a hand. A moderator opens the call in one click, with breakouts and polls when you need them.
Search what was solved
Best answers rise to the top of search, so new members find last year's answer before they ask again.
Typed Waves
Question, discussion, AMA, workshop, session, announcement. Each type has its own flow.
Roles you define
Profile types such as speaker, mentor or sponsor, each with its own permissions.
Direct messages
One-to-one and group DMs scoped to the community, with reactions, edits and pins.
Pages for sponsors, speakers and exhibitors
Each gets a branded page with a wall, sessions, team and contact button, plus visit analytics for the owner.
"Stop by for the API teardown at 2pm. Questions welcome here any time."
Embed it on your site
Mount Dium inside your own domain with SSO, so members never leave your site.
Developer docsBuilt for groups where every answer matters.
Cohort programs
Each cohort's best answers carry forward to the next one, instead of dying in a group chat.

Questions people ask us first.
What is Dium?
Dium is a community Q&A and knowledge platform. You open a Flow (a community space), members start Waves (questions, AMAs, workshops, live sessions), and the best answer on each Wave is marked. Solved Waves become a searchable knowledge base, so the community stops repeating itself.
Is Dium really free?
Yes, while your Flow has fewer than 50 members. That includes every Wave type, live sessions, roles and search. At 50 members you move to a paid plan starting at $29 a month. See all plans.
How is this different from Slack or Discord?
Chat tools are built for the conversation happening now. Dium is built for the answer you need later: every Wave has a type, an owner and a marked best answer, and nothing expires. Many communities keep chat for banter and use Dium for questions. Dium vs Slack.
Can we run live sessions in Dium?
Yes. Any Wave can become a scheduled or live session with RSVPs, a meeting link, raised hands, polls and breakout rooms. Questions asked during the session stay attached to the Wave afterwards.
Can we put Dium on our own website?
Yes. Partners mount Dium inside their own site path and sign members in with SSO. See the developer overview.
Do you have a demo?
Three kinds. Take the tour to click through Dium with sample data, no sign-up. Open the demo templates to try every app screen and embeddable widget live. For communities over 50 members or events with sponsors, book a 30-minute walkthrough.
Put your community's answers somewhere they last.
Free while you are under 50 members. No credit card. Set up a Flow in a few minutes.
