How Dium turns questions into answers that last.
Follow one question from a new Flow to a solved, searchable answer, with live sessions, sponsor Pages and moderation along the way.
Free under 50 members. No credit card.
Keep one dated page with New, Improved and Fixed tags, and link each entry to its help article.
The whole loop, in seven moves.
Three words cover most of Dium. A Flow is a community. A Wave is a thread inside it. A best answer is the reply that solved it.
Everything below is included on the Free plan, except where a section says otherwise.
Open a Flow
A Flow is your community space. Pick a name, a category (community, conference, team, course and more), a join mode and roles.
Start a Wave
A Wave is one thread with a type: question, discussion, announcement, session or opportunity. Tags and privacy are set per Wave.
Go live when talking is faster
Any session Wave can go live with a meeting link, RSVP seats, raised hands, polls and breakout tables.
Mark the best answer
The asker or a moderator marks the reply that worked. The Wave shows as Solved and the answer sits on top.
Let the next person find it
Search and the Tags tab pull up solved Waves, so a repeat question gets a link instead of a new thread.
Give sponsors and speakers a Page
Pages are branded mini sites inside the Flow, each with a wall, discussions, team, a call to action and owner analytics.
Keep it healthy
Owners and moderators review reports, mute or ban, and see activity numbers on the admin dashboard.
Every Wave has a type, tags and an owner
Members pick the type when they post, so a question gets answers, an announcement gets read and a session gets RSVPs.
- Profile types decide which Wave types each role may create, and how many
- Waves can be public, limited or invite only
- Questions left idle for 14 days archive on their own, so the open list stays short
- @mentions, reactions, helpful votes and pinned replies
Live when it helps. Written down after.
Session Waves carry a meeting link from Google Meet, Zoom or any tool. The chat, polls and questions stay in the Wave when the call ends.
Breakout tables
The answer outlives the call
Questions asked during the session stay attached to the Wave. The best one gets marked, and search finds it next month.
Keep one dated page with New, Improved and Fixed tags, and link each entry to its help article.
Recurring office hours
Weekly, biweekly or monthly. The next session is created when the last one ends.
Breakout tables
Split a session into tables with a seat limit each. Members pick a table and join.
Search what was solved
Search, tags and the For You, Trending, Live Now and New feeds help members find answers first.
Pages give sponsors and speakers a place to stay.
A Page is a branded mini site inside a Flow. There are four kinds: sponsor, exhibitor, speaker and partner.
"API teardown at 2pm on the main stage. Ask us anything here before or after."
Front face
Logo, banner, tagline, about, team, perks and one call-to-action button, such as a booking link.
Wall and discussions
Quick messages on the wall, plus a full discussion thread created with the Page.
Owner analytics
Visits, CTA clicks, messages and downloads. Only the Page owner sees them.
Who can make one
Profile types set who may create or join each kind of Page, and how many.
Moderation that members can see working
Anyone can report a Wave, reply, message, member or Page. Owners and moderators decide what happens next.
- Review actions: dismiss, warn, hide, delete, mute or ban
- Five community flags suspend an account automatically; a flag from an owner or organizer suspends at once
- Slow mode spaces out posts in busy Waves
- Admin dashboard: daily, weekly and monthly active members, top contributors and top Waves
How the pieces fit together.
Most communities only use the middle column. Partners who put Dium on their own domain add the left one.

What you need before you start
| If you want to | You need | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Run a community | An email address | Sign-in uses Werify: an emailed code or a social login. No password to manage. |
| Host live sessions | A meeting link | Google Meet, Zoom or any tool that opens in a browser. Dium does not host the video. |
| Grow past 49 members | A Pro plan | From $29 a month for 50 members. Billed monthly through Werify Paywall. |
| Embed Dium on your domain | A server that runs PHP, and a partner key from Dium | The mount is a small PHP file on your host. Keys are issued by the Dium team. |
| Sign members in from your site | Server-side code that can call the partner API | Keep the API key on your server, never in browser code. |
Product questions
Do I need to install anything?
No. Dium runs in the browser. Members can also install it as a web app from their browser menu, which adds an icon and browser notifications.
Does Dium host the video for live sessions?
No. Each session Wave holds a meeting link from the tool you already use, such as Google Meet or Zoom. Dium handles RSVPs, seats, raised hands, polls, breakouts and the written Q&A around the call. How meeting links work.
What is the difference between a Flow and a Room?
A Flow is one community with its own members, roles and Waves. A Room groups several Flows, for example one per event track, so members and direct messages carry across them.
Can members use their existing login?
Members sign in with Werify, and their name and photo come from their Moat profile. Partners can sign members in from their own site with a one-time token. Werify SSO.
Is there an API?
Yes, a partner API: JSON POST requests with an X-Api-Key header and scoped keys. There is no public SDK. Developer overview.
