Mark the best answer on a question

Open your question, find the reply that solved it, and mark it as the best answer. The Wave is then shown as solved.

Before you start

  • You started the Wave, or you are a moderator, admin, organizer or owner of the Flow.
  • The Wave has at least one reply.

Steps

  1. Open the question Wave.
  2. Read the replies and pick the one that actually solved the problem.
  3. Use the option on that reply to mark it as the best answer.
  4. Check the Wave. It now shows as solved, and the best answer is highlighted so readers see it first.
  5. The person who wrote the answer gets a notification, and the best answer counts toward their trust score.

Best answer, helpful and like

These are three different signals. Best answer is one reply per Wave, chosen by the asker or a moderator. Helpful is a vote any member can give to any reply, and it also raises the writer's trust score. A like or an emoji reaction is a lighter way to say thanks and does not mark anything as solved.

Troubleshooting

I cannot find the option

Only the person who started the Wave and moderators can mark a best answer. Ask a moderator to mark it for you.

I marked the wrong reply

Mark the correct reply. A Wave has one best answer, so the previous one is unmarked automatically.

Two replies both helped

Mark the more complete one as best and give the other a helpful vote. You can also reply with a short summary that links both.
