How the trust score adds up

A trust score is a number Dium keeps for each member, built from the best answers, helpful votes, replies and live sessions on their record.

How it is earned

Points come from four things you do in any Flow. The weights reward solving problems more than simply posting.

  • A best answer is worth 3 points
  • A live session is worth 5 points
  • A helpful vote on your reply is worth 1 point
  • Each reply you post is worth 1 point

How it is lost

The score is recalculated from your current record, not added up forever. So it can go down.

  • A best answer mark moves to someone else's reply
  • A member removes a helpful vote they gave you
  • Moderators hide or delete your replies, or your account is suspended

The inputs at a glance

The same weights apply in every Flow. The score belongs to the member, not to one Flow.

One example

Fictional example. Ravi has posted 12 replies. 4 of them are marked best, other members gave him 10 helpful votes, and he has 1 live session on his record.

Illustrative numbers. A best answer is also a reply, so it counts in both rows.
