Sample data for illustration

If you run a program, this probably sounds familiar

  • Every intake asks about stipends, visas and demo day in week one, and I answer by email every time.

  • Mentor office hours live in three calendars and a spreadsheet nobody updates.

  • The group chat from last year is still there, but nobody can find anything in it.

  • My funder asks how engaged fellows were, and all I have is a feeling.

Three things that change

Week one gets quieter

Questions answered in earlier intakes, with a marked best answer, show up in search before a new fellow asks again.

Mentor time is booked, not chased

Mentors run office hours as recurring sessions with a seat limit. Fellows RSVP and raise a hand. The next date appears on its own.

You can show what happened

The admin view lists daily, weekly and monthly active members, top contributors and the busiest Waves. That gives you real numbers for your report.

An intake, start to finish

A Flow is one community space. A Wave is a single thread inside it: a question, an AMA, a workshop or a live session.

Everything here is set by you in Flow settings. Nothing needs a developer.

  1. Set roles once

Create profile types such as Fellow, Mentor and Staff. Each gets its own limits, for example mentors can schedule sessions and fellows can ask and reply.

  2. Collect applications in the Flow

Post a placement or project as an opportunity Wave. Applicants apply in Dium and you route each one to the right staff lead.

  3. Invite with a role attached

Send a role invite link or use a join code, so every fellow lands with the right permissions.

  4. Office hours on repeat

Weekly, biweekly or monthly sessions with a meeting link, seat limits, polls and breakout tables for small groups.

  5. Open a sibling Flow

Group intakes in one Room so alumni and new fellows can message each other while each intake keeps its own space.

Only the parts you will use

Profile types

Custom roles with their own rights, such as how many sessions a mentor may create or which Pages a staff member can join.

Opportunity Waves

Placements, projects or grants with an apply button, an applicant list and routing to a named lead.

Recurring sessions

Office hours that repeat weekly, biweekly or monthly, with RSVP seats, co-hosts and a Google Meet or Zoom link.

Rooms

Several intakes as sibling Flows that share members and direct messages.

Email digests

A daily or weekly summary for fellows who do not check in every day, sent in their own time zone and outside quiet hours.

Questions program leads ask

Can fellows from different intakes see each other?

Only if you want them to. Each intake can be its own Flow. Put the Flows in one Room and members can find and message each other across intakes.

Can I keep the program private?

Yes. A Flow can be private, and joining can be by invite, by code or by your approval.

We already have a Slack. Why move?

Keep it for chatter if people like it. On Slack's free plan, messages older than 90 days are hidden, so move the questions that should last. Dium vs Slack.

What does it cost past 50 members?

One flat monthly price for the Flow, from $29 for up to 50 members to $299 for unlimited. See pricing.
